Re: Crash locations of 83 Sqn Lancaster ND740 and 207 Sqn Lancaster LM261, 11-12.9.1944
Theo, the fact that LM261's crew was first buried in Belgium would indicate a loss over that country. Danny

Re: Crash locations of 83 Sqn Lancaster ND740 and 207 Sqn Lancaster LM261, 11-12.9.1944
Hi Theo,
One of the documents I have about this crash mention the following details: Post Presumption Memorandum No.1345/48. File Number P.422916/44 date 11.3.48 Relating to Lancaster LM.261 Missing on 11/12.09.44. Crashed at Namur area, Belgium. The crew of this aircraft were buried in the Fosse American Cemetery, later they were concentrated to the Leopoldsburg British Cemetery. Best regards Luc |
