This airfield must have been at nearby Malmsheim, actually on the outskirts of Renningen, where JG 53 was based in the later war period. On 23 Feb 1945 Lancaster ND506 of 166 Squadron had crashed at/near Renningen, or at least (the) five killed crew members were initially buried there. Not RAF, but P-51D 44-13437 had also crashed at/near Renningen just a day before (1 lt Edward Borosky, KIA). No other Allied a/c found so far with reference to Renningen in 1945. Regards, Leendert |
