Re: 19 Sqn Losses

I thought that Davies was brought down off the coast? It looks as if he landed this so when did he die? Still puzzled with the differences between the letter F

Re: 19 Sqn Losses

I cannot seem to find his burial details-anyone help? Combat was off Belgian/Dutch coast? No record in the Dutch lists

Re: 19 Sqn Losses

Chris,

I gathered from previous posts on this very forum (2007 or so) and also RAF Commands (same years) that Sgt Clifford Davies was shot down over sea and the Germans picked him up. So POW instead of KIA.

Regards,
Leendert

Re: 19 Sqn Losses

From Bertrand's photos, it does appear to be P82 and 19 Sqn which means it can only be P8243 or P8255, both apparently lost off the coast to II/ZG 76???? Cas Cards say 1106853 Sgt Clifford Davies was lost 60 miles east of Great Yarmouth and was POW wounded. It also says that Plt Off Peter Stuart who was meant to be reported missing in P8243 was actually flying P8668?? Cas cards also say that Parkin was in P8243 and Edmunds P8449 and both were lost at sea. So, as Bertrand says, if it is Davies, did he in fact crash-land and if so where? Not Holland but what about Belgium?
