Hi RT,
Many thanks for confirming that it was a 3.Kgr.126 a He111h-4, 4 missing - much appreciated. Oddly enough, I now have the identity of the Royal Marine gunner that shot the 111 down. He disobeyed an order from Captain Pegram - HMS Glasgow - not to shoot. Pegram did not want attention drawn to the ship as it was then embarking the Royal Norwegian party, various dignatries and gold bullion. Thanks again to RT, Jim and Andreas who have provided information and guidance. 'Flegdling Eagles' has now been ordered. Cheers, Bob |
