Hello, i was looking through you post regarding your grandfather's PoW log and noted he writes of "Dennis S Merrells - 7 Squadron N3663 MG-H pow 2/8/41"
This is RAF Sgt 567091 Dennis Stanley Merrells PoW number 42 who was in fact shot down 3rd August 1941 at 1.48am by Fw Alfred Warrelmann, the last of his 7 victories. A search on this site of Warrelmann will bring up details of his flying career & claims. During the little research i've carried out some years ago i wrote Stirling I N3663 as MG-A but i can't recall how i obtained this information. Hope this is of some help, regards, Kerry. |
