Re: SCW Miguel Guerrero García claims
Interestingly an "Nieuport-Hispano" ace - I do not know if there were other pilots of either side who made it an ace with 5 or more claims with the "obsolete" Ni-H. 52.
Before the foreign supplies started to flow for both sides of SCW, the Nieuport-Hispano 52´s were the only fighters in Spanish sky and both sides scored their first air victories with these fighters of 1920´s design. Of Guerreros claims (with Ni-H. 52) I found following info: 25.7.1936 CASA-Dornier Wal was shot down over Gibraltar straits. 27.7.1936 floatplane Savoia 62 Nr. 12 was bombing Algeciras, when Guerrero attacked it and forced it to escape and land in Gibraltar, where the Republican floatplane was interned during the rest of war (=practically a air victory eliminating the enemy plane from further action during the rest of war) 29.7.1936 Vickers Vildebeest (of naval air unit of Iznajar) was shot down near Iznalloz (Granada province). 31.7.1937 Breguet XIX was also shot down near Iznalloz.
