Re: Stuka Atatcks on Malta March 1941

Hi Chris,

Squadron Leader Derek Whittingham's diary only specifically mentions Ju87 attacks on the 5th March.

Re: Stuka Atatcks on Malta March 1941

I missed the earlier thread, but both members of this crew were later recipients of the RK.

Ju 87B-1, , DIEKWISCH, Ltn. Erwin-Peter, , III., 9., St.G. 1, , , , , 23-Feb-41, Flak. Hit in engine. Crew FSA after reaching Sicilien coast., Both RK., X.Fl.Korps/Mittelmeer, Malta:The Hurricane Year/Shores, et al, p.155; Obermaier, p.97, 204, , Südküste Sizilien, 100%, F, Bf Gefr. Johann TRUMMER, ,

A few days later two other future RK recipients had some fun of their own over Malta - note that none of these three incident appears in the Gen.Qu. loss data.

Re: Stuka Atatcks on Malta March 1941

Chris,

Is a unseasonable suggestion that these data come from some logbook ??
