My belief is that Caldwell got it right when he identified the 78th as the unit which hit JG26 hard on the 14th. I'm still trying to determine whether the 355th tangled w/JG27, JG4, JG3 or JG1 or a combination as they shot down both 190s and 109s] So, based on the photo above, he was not KIA?
