Re: Schwarmführer fuselage band JG 301
Dear all,
thank you very much for your thoughts and information. A Schwarmführer identification band, experimental unit band or blind flying marking would make sense. Strange that it is only documented on one aircraft so far. I will publish a photo of a Bf 109 G in my next 'Captured Eagles' with black-white-black bands. However, it is not a JG 4 machine and the band has only half the width of the usual JG 4 black-white-black band. It may also not have been black, but dark blue. I was wondering if the band could also have been used as e.g. Schwarmführer identification. Best regards, Roger |
