Thanx for posting this photo. Yes, this is Philippeville, Belgium. The two planes are "Black 10" from 2./JG3 and "Yellow 11" from 3./JG3. These planes were supposed to have cracked up, possibly in a ground collision, on 21.05.40. Black 10 is one of our EoE Color Profile a/c. We'd love to know who the pilot was. Unfortunately, of the several photos of Philippville known, including this, White 6 cannot be seen. Perhaps that means that the photo of "White 6" was taken at Charlevile, France. Anyone have any photos of the salvage area there? |
