Bf 109E-3, Uffz Wolf shot down 28/11/40

Hi Guys.
I am looking or a photo of this E-3 Black 2 of II/JG 26 that crashed in Udimore on 28/11/40.
I think there was one in one of the old Scale Aircraft Modelling mags many years ago.
Does anybody have a photo of it at the crash site??
Nigel Parker is doing a series of books on the BOB crashes.
Does anybody have comms with him??
Thx in advance
Stefaan Bouwer

Hi Stefaan,
don't forget, there is a difference between 2. and II.
Your plane was from the 2./JG 26, that was a part of the I./JG 26.

Btw, was it lost as "red 2" or as "black 2"? Is there something written in the report at the UK? On Peters photo is looks a bit like a red number with black border?!

Here it looks just black:

And at the museum, you know it Stefaan :-), it is a "red 2".

It was red with black trim. And somewhere among my souvenirs I have the Staffelwappen stickpin.

Re: Bf 109E-3, Uffz Wolf shot down 28/11/40

Hi Guys.
I asked the chaps at the museum as they would have done some homework.
The first photo from the German site sure looks Black 2. I was trying to see if there are any indicators as to what filter was used over the lens for the crash site, but all the photos it looks much darker, so that I think the mottle is to light on our version.Does not look like orthochromic. The photographer may have used a yellow filter as the weather was terrible as shown in the crash photo
I asked Melvin to get hold of Nigel Parker, he may have other photos.
Can surely also be red with black trim.
The photo I recall seeing in SAM I am sure was from the right side.
