This IL-2 -based on location- probably belonged to the 4 VA. On October 1, 1944 there was no such IL-2 assigned to this VA as "6469". (Neither 1876469, 6469, nor 306469.)
For Factory 1. "6469" was a too early production, for factory no. 18. 1886469 would be a waaaaaaaay too high serial number. For Factory 1. a "99xx", for factory 18. an "188xx03" or so would be reasonable. Other option would be like 188xx115, or 187xxxxx, but not this high... Also, it can be a re-used, spare part on a newer plane for which the S/N is still not recovered. Cheers, Gabor |
