Re: Name of a village near Rschew

WNr 1696 was a Stab II./KG54 a/c so that one was coded B3+?C. I think WNr 3649 is the best candidate for B3+AP. To be certain we have to wait untill a photo showing the WNr will appear on eBay.

Regards,
Rudi.

Re: Name of a village near Rschew

Hi,
Northeast 20 km of the city of Zubtsov (near the river Volga), we found the crash site of a Ju-88.
Found a piece of plastic marked with signs (in pencil) the type of aircraft "...88"
W/N "21 ..." or "...91" or "..218" or "918"...

And even in the area of the Rzhev-Zubtsov-Sychevka found another Ju-88. Luke 50*80 cm - filled with W/N 6626 of the aircraft (?) .

it's 1941-1942?
Do you know of a suitable loss in the area?
regards,
Kirill

Re: Name of a village near Rschew

Here is a little more.............

Two missions were carried out in the heavily contested area around Rzhev on 04.03.42. The first mission of 25 Ju 88s claimed the destruction of 18 trucks. The second mission of 11 Ju 88s claimed 2 field guns and 5 trucks destroyed. Three Ju 88s were totally lost and 1 more was heavily damaged due to concentrated Flak and fighter defenses. Ju 88 B3+?P (3649) lost an engine from a Flak hit and made an emergency landing in German-occupied territory. The Ju 88 B3+AM was shot down in Russian territory and the crew reported MIA. Ju 88 B3+IM made a forced landing after being shot up by fighters and the crew returned safely and unwounded. Ju 88 B3+BC from the Stab was shot up over the target area wounding Lt. Hanak-Hammerl but managed to return to base where it made a belly landing.
