Re: serial 260 Sqn Kittyhawk (Sgt. Carlisle) 15.6.42?
Hi Nick,
.. well, Sommer's Leistungsbuch says a different thing for this claim, it states "Einmotoriges Flugzeug (USA)".. Cheers, Theo |

Re: serial 260 Sqn Kittyhawk (Sgt. Carlisle) 15.6.42?
That certainly corrects the record then. I wonder how things got so confused in the first place.
Can anyone shed a light on any other possible losses or encounters that might have resulted in this claim? Maybe one possible insight is the fact that Wilhelm Crinius of JG 53 at one point claimed a 'USA Fighter' that turned out to be a Hurricane, the vokes filter obviously appearing to be the big chin-radiator of a Curtiss P-40.... |
