Once again, a big thank you, Col. Both the last names are fairly uncommon so its very likely that the details you give are the ones I'm looking for. The FreeBDM.org website also has only one possibility for each name:

Gerald Horkin born 1921 in Dewsbury, W. Yorks.

John M. Wickman born 1919 in Reigate, Surrey.
