bf109E with what look like F wings?
Hi Guys,
Just browsing the following website and I noticed a Bf109E (38th image down) with wings that have rounded tips. Perhaps they look to be F model wings (no typical top bulges to allow for MGFF drum installation) or at least F wing tips with early style wings?? It is in a wrecked state amongst rubble and titled "Stalingrad". Where the girl in the dress is standing in the photo the wing tip profile is clear also. At first I thought it could be an optical illusion. http://www.mission4today.com/index.p...sh=15&start=15 Does anybody have any further information with regards to this aircraft / image? Just thought I would share this. Quite interesting don't you think? Apologies if somebody has spotted this before. Kind Regards and Happy Sunday |

Hello,
Not sure whether you used to be a member of the old LEMB, but there was an exhaustive discussion there on the subject here http://www.luftwaffe-experten.org/fo...&hl=stalingrad If you cannot access it, I should be able to provide you some assistance in this respect. Regards, Sinisa |

It is thought that this is a staged wreck for propaganda purposes using mixed parts from various other wrecks. The later wing/s have been bolted onto the earlier fuselage.
