Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Thanks again, Rudi
The Bf 109 shot in Salzburg is a real gap-filler: until now, we had only one Summer 1945 partial shot https://www.flickr.com/photos/280920...7631640557758/ and another showing the hulk of this machine sometimes in the Winter 1945-1946 (Hildebrandt's Broken Eagles 3, p. 2): https://www.flickr.com/photos/280920...7631640557758/ Now we can be sure this is a 3./JG 27 machine, and probably one of the rare Erla built Bf 109 G-14/AS. Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
The only Ju 88 wrecks recorded at Dijon-Longvic by the Allies were two Ju 88 G-1 night fighters (mis-identified as Ju 188, I guess because the square tail) so these picture seems to be from somewhere else.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hi Nick,
I have got a least 3 A-4's destroyed at Dijon in 1944: WNr 2651, 3635 & 4553. Not sure where I got this info from. Can anyone confirm? Regards, Rudi. |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
It is possible that there was a further report after the one I have. Sometimes they did this when they found and examined a new dispersal area for example.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Much earlier period, airframes likely long before taken away.
Ju 88 A-4 3635 was damaged 20% in attack at Dijon in March 44 Ju FRB plane (ex KG 77) (GQM Schulen losses) |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hi Marc,
could at least one of them be a D-11? The hood in front of the cockpit doesn't have the shape of the D-9 hood. They seem to come from unfinished planes. The serial number is not yet present. Cheers Roger |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hello,
Post #358, does anyone else read the GI’s location on the back of several of these photos as being outside of Stotel? (53.445368 8.596309). Thanks in advance for your input. Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Dear Steve,
Either one reads "hotel" or - correctly so IMHO - Stotel, close to Cuxhaven. Thanks for pointing this out. Cheers Marc |
