Looking for information on 2Lt H C Nielson USAAF

Does anyone know if it is possible to research losses to the 306th Heavy Bombardment Group. I am trying to ascertain when 2 Lt Harvey C Nielson was shot down. He was later held at Stalag Luft 1.

Any ideas appreciated.

Google is your friend.

http://www.306bg.us/

probably the best Group website out there. The wartime records are largely scanned and available online on that site. Very active facebook group too.

Good afternoon !

Not only Google is your friend, AFHRA Record Group 292 does as well.

KU Report # 1350 as well as microfilm #'s 121126-39 report this incident between Rehburg & Winzlar, close to Nienburg on the Weser River, Germany, at about 14:15 hrs. The Claim-Report # 73 of Olt. Otto Wessling, 11./JG 3, is perfectly matching up with the loss of the B-17 in question.

Best wishes,

Horst Weber

Good evening Daz !

The German KU- and microfilm Reports as a short-form catalogue, generally known as Generalquartiermachermeister-Meldungen are existing as paper-copy, arranged day-by-day. My copy is from 1996 but have no idea, if they are online.

I don't think that the Reports itself are online, but in most of the cases you'll find the report in the respective MACR or you order it.

You'll find the German claim-reports in catalogue form, arranged day-by-day, in this forum online.

Since nowadays anything is online, maybe someone else can help.

Good luck !
