Lt. Jürgen Hoerschelmann (Born 21.January 1918 in Katharinenstadt/Samara, Russia). 26.August 1939 entered the Luftwaffe.
10.January 1940 began pilot training at Heiligendamm, entered LKS Berlin-Gatow on 1.April 1940. Fighter training completed with the 1./Erg.JGr. Süd during 1942. 15.March 1943 Leutnant with the 7./JG 3 “Udet.” Bf 109G-6 belly-landed 18.March 1944 unhurt after combat with B-17s. In February 1944 he was in the Stab III./JG 3, 17.March 1944 appointed Staffelkapitän of the 7./JG 3. KIA 12.May 1944, shot down in the vicinity of Fulda near Dorfborn by P-51s in Bf 109G-6 WNr.440306 “weiße 10”. Posthumously awarded the Ehrenpokal 15.May 1944, and the Deutsches Kreuz im Gold 1.Oct. 1944 The above bio thanks to De Zeng & Stankey's extensive listing of Luftwaffe officers, aircraft details from our db.
