Oblt.Siegel lost 19.8.40 9/KG27.
On the 19.8.40 9/KG27 lost one of its Heinkel 111 a/c in the Bay of Biscay,
on its return flight from a sortie to Liverpool. Would anybody have the crew names available, or a/c identity if known. I have Oblt.Siegel and 3 others missing? and Gefr.Karl Ros killed. Does the NVM exist? Best regs, Steve. |

Re: Oblt.Siegel lost 19.8.40 9/KG27.
Steve,
All I have on it is as follows: 9./KG27 Heinkel He111P-2. Ditched in the Bay of Biscay 300 km north of St Sebastian due to petrol failure following night sortie to Liverpool. BS Gefr Karl Höß killed, FF Oberlt [ ] Siegel and rest of crew rescued unhurt. Aircraft 1G+MT 100% write-off. |

Re: Oblt.Siegel lost 19.8.40 9/KG27.
Thank you Peter, so the Bs was Hos and not Ros, and the code is helpful.
Would anybody be able to provide the NVM ? Kindest regs, Steve. |
