In the reconnaissance report No. 241 of the Headquarters of the Western Front by
6:00 29.8.42 it is reported: The captured technician-tester has shown II/JG 54 of a destructive squadron (number of the case doesn't know) from brought-down Me-109 of G-2 27.8 near Kirov: in a squadron 3 groups on average in 30 Me-109 G-2. The 2nd group has transferred the base to Orel from the area Pskov. About 18 Yu-87 cars were based on airfield Orel together with the 2nd group.
Every other day following interrogation: The captured technician-tester on additional poll has shown: the II/JG 54 of a destructive squadron 24.8 of Orel has transferred the base to the Region of Dugino. Earlier there the 1st group 54 squadrons has transferred the base. the 3rd group of a squadron continues to be based in the Region of Siverskaya (The Leningrad front).
