Re: B-24 lost on May 18, 1944?
Hello Kaiyan,
I do not think it is the same a/c. This one has a noticeable fuselage fracture, while the original picture shows no sign of a fuselage fracture (as far as I can see), also the original shows the tail slightly raised from the ground while this one seems to be in a more level position. As to the original a/c, I now think that it must have been 42-64347, MACR 5057,a B24J. In an earlier list the main were B24H's and one was a B24G. But "347" is the only one where Bulgaria is mentioned in the report. I do however expect that others may prove me wrong. Alex |
