Post #1929. I believe one of the photos was published in Luftwaffe im Focus, issue number not to hand. It concerned an incident where a German pilot made a belly landing and was surrendering. He was shot by American troops.

Post #1923: note the Italian petrol drums (marked "R. AERONAUTICA")

Post #1928: Is that Ju 88 one of the ones put into French service in 1944–45?

Post #1929: Bf 109 of Herbert Maxis, IV./JG 53, shot down during Bodenplatte. This incident has come up in a few past threads.

Post 1922: Delle is the border village with Switzerland; on the Swiss side you have Boncourt JU. Check Google Maps
