Re: Crash of (Allied) plane in Hungary, early 1943.
This can be in a Hungarian military magazine in 1943, but definitely not in Hungary. Location is Ukraine on the Eastern front, the plane is most likely a downed soviet A-20B, or C Boston. Hard to read, but most likely says this:
"The recce. mission has failed! The burning remains of a downed soviet airplane behind the village. Grenadiers captured two crewmembers, two others lost their lives among the wrecks. Residents of the Ukrainian village are inspecting the crashed, burned "steel-bird". Gabor |
