Guten Tag Hans !
A look into the reports of 9th Air Force that 15th October 1944 didn't find any solution. All fighter-bomber missions took place in the Rhineland or South of it.
No Mission of the bomber force of 9th AF that day due to bad weather.
A RHUBARB mission of 8th AF fighters could be possible, but is not mentioned in the book "The Mighty Eight War Diary". RSwank's remarks are interesting, but the 78th Fighter Group's mission that day led the Group to Bohmte airfield (near Osnabrück), where their duty was to attack the cover-fighters of jet-fighter Take-offs and landings. The description of the time-over-target of the 78th Group is about 09:00 hrs.
Under those circumstances, you probably may find more information by the ORB of 2nd TAF or RHUBARBS of 8th AF that day.
