Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hello David,
All is well, indeed. It is good to hear from you. If you are referring to the Me 262 in post # 2686, as far as I know, this is the A-1a W.Nr. 500210 "Yellow 17" of 3./JG 7 that was flown by Ltn. Hans Dorn into Fassberg on 8 May 1945 and surrendered to the British. On 27 May 1945 it was flown by F/Lt. Clive Gosling of 616 RAF Squadron, along with W/C. E.E. Warren Schrader in W.Nr. 110800 "White 7" to Schleswig-Land. On 29 May they proceeded to Lübeck-Blankensee where Schrader 'pranged' the "White 7". I suspect the writing on the nacelle is "616F". best regards, Jim |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hello everyone,I wonder if the numerals painted on the cowling could be the last four of the aircraft’s Werknummer, or it’s Jumo 004 Motornummer. The Jumo 004’s that I have documented so far have MNrn. in the form of three digits that identify the producer, followed by “301,” then the actual four-digit MNr. Example: 100 3011155 as mounted on an Ar 234 B-1.
Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |
