Namewise this seems to be a mix up between two 92 Sq pilots with similar names: a) P/O Aberconway John Sefton Pattinson, and b) P/O John Gordon Pattison Both Mason (Battle over Britain) and Ramsey (The Battle of Britain, then and now) clearly favoured AJS Pattinson at the time they wrote their books while Ken Wynn (Men of the Battle of Britain) stated the individual was JG Pattison With Wynn obviously specialising in individuals, I would say he is most likely to be correct and Chris also seems to favour that solution. Not entirely sure from where the "weather site" has got their details. Possibly from James Alfred Paterson (with one T) also with 92Sq during the Battle. Cheers Stig |
