Thanks both! I am still missing 38 Sqdn ORB, but will download that this week. I tend to agree that this was wishful thinking.
Stig, while the losses of 148 for the next night are heavy, given that there are two German documents placing the incident on 31 October, as well as the 5a Squadra war diary, which claims two shot down and one probable, I would go with that. All the best Andreas
