Re: B-24D 41-11760 Crash 1942-07-27
From the WWW,
41-11760 crashed 27/7/42 was this a/c a 98 BG a/c ? 41-11814 - 98BG , Tunisia, 24/7/42. 41-11876, 27/7/42, South Carolina. Is it possible that the a/c was "814" and that the date was somehow misinterpreted, "4" to "7" ? |

Hi Alex. 41-11760 Acc. to the book yes, but it would be nice to have one more source/accident report that could confirm that. 41-11814 (344th BS) went down en-route to Palestine over Africa 23/24 July and 344th BS was first squadron to arrive on 25/7. But i have that listed the plane crash in Near Misérié, Chari-Baguirmi, West CHAD, not over Tunisia as Christopher Shores book do. That doesn't match the ferry routes/link over Africa. Lets see when AFHRA opens. They have the report. /Johan Last edited by JohanSWE; 2nd June 2020 at 09:30. Reason: Update |
