Sorry to disturb an old thread but maybe someone can provide more information.
It's interesting how this loss is described in MAW3. There are two losses listed for the 14th FG on March 4,1943. First, the loss of Major Gabriel C. Russell KIA. After this, another 14th FG loss: "P-38 damaged by He112 over Spanish Morocco, force landed near Mulluva river, Algeria, pilot unstated". I think there was only one P-38 involved in this incident.
