A little correction: I. /ZG2 was formed from II. /ZG26 minus 5./ZG26, wich was used to form night fifgter Gruppe. II. /ZG2 was formed from I. /ZG26 (I. /NJG4).

Re: St Kap 3./ZG 2 in Battle of Britain

Looking at ZG 26 his version then slightly changes and saying that both I. and II./ZG 26 were absorbed by ZG 1 and ZG 2 which at least in part support what Evgeny says. Holm also states that the remnants of I./ZG 2, when disbanding, went both to NJG 4 and III./ZG 1. The latter supports Gerhard's view and perhaps this is where NJG 4 enters the picture? With regard to III./ZG 2 Holm states basically exactly what Gerhard says above. Always something I guess.... Why are the Zerstörer units so difficult to track down correctly? Cheers Stig |

Re: St Kap 3./ZG 2 in Battle of Britain
Unforyunatly, M.Holm's site have some mistakes
![]() I./ZG2 was formed from Stab, 4 and 6 Staffel of ZG26, with pilots and aircrafts, and kept their Holzschuch emblem. 5./ZG26 was used to form II./NJG4, Rossiwall became its GruKo. II./ZG2 was formed from remnants of heavy-biten I./ZG26 (I./NJG4), also kept its Ringelpietz emblem.
