Re: aerial victories Fw.Horst Schwentick (Schwentik)
Hi Tony
Very unlikely he had a second claim, and if so most likely it was never confirmed. I have just the one you have. He was born 09.06.1914. Kind Regards Johannes |

@ Tony,
Beside his claim, do you have a special interest concerning Fw. Schwentick? Just a matter of curiosity. ClinA-78 |

Re: aerial victories Fw.Horst Schwentick (Schwentik)
Hi Johannes,
Thank you very much. I have two documents about this pilot from the Bundes Archiv Freiburg. It is written on both documents that he had two air victories to his credit. Mr. Prien, Stemmer, Rodeike, Bock also claim in the book JFV 12 / III that Fw. Schwentik (Schwentick / Schwentig) recorded his second victory on May 7, 1943. Hi ClinA-78, yes i am very interested in this pilot. Thank you again, best regards Tony |

Re: aerial victories Fw.Horst Schwentick (Schwentik)
Hi Tony
Herr Bock does the claims for Dr Prien, he's very, very good. Apart from the mikrofilms he uses other sources, sometimes like flugbücher entries these can be unconfirmed. I'l checkout the 7th May claim just in case I have mis-read the name and attributed it to somebody else. Kind Regards Johannes |

Re: aerial victories Fw.Horst Schwentick (Schwentik)
Hi Tony
Very unlikely he confirmed any other claims with JG 26. 2./JG 26's claims are mostly recorded on the beautifully typed-out staffel claims, after that there is no other claimant with a surname anywhere near resembling Schwentik's. So this leaves an unconfirmed before 7th May 1943, or a claim with another unit who's earlier typed-out staffel claims are missing. Unlikely to be a mistake in work papers, but it does happen. Kind Regards Johannes |
