By now, the perceived threat of Condors had at last forced the Allies to come up with all sorts of ideas to defend against them, some of them more unusual than others. First was the Holman Projector which used high-pressure steam from the ship's boilers to throw grenades in front of the attacker. Then there was the Type E System (better known as the Parachute and Cable (PAC) Rocket) which used a rocket to fire a 600' cable above the ship and when at the top of its trajectory, a parachute would open under which would be a small bomb |
