Re: He-219 ”Uhu”s found at the end of the war
Hello all,
The first three captured He219's which went to the UK were all found at Grove/Denmark: AM-20 (Werkenummer 290126, D5+BL) AM-21 (werkenummer 310109, no Verbandskennzeichen) AM-22 (Werkenummer 310189, D5+CL) Later on, another two He219's were brought to the UK from Westerland/Sylt/Germany: AM-43 was 310215 according to Phil Butler, author of 'Warprizes. The photo in Vol.4 of '2nd Tactical Air Force' of Chris Shores and C.Thomas, page 728 shows this He219 and it has no Naxos of FuG 218 antennas, whereas the He219 at RAF Tangmere has FuG 218 and Naxos. AM-44 therefore must have been He219 with Werkenummer 310106. Love to see the evidence that AM-43 was 310106 and AM-44 310215 instead, because it contradicts my conclusions drawn so far  best regards, Marcel
