I am looking for info on the following He-46s:

# 1140 SA+HS NSGr 1

# 1240 BB+CO 1/Storkkampfgruppe Luftflotte 6

Hello James,

from Barry C. Rosch books: Luftwaffe Codes Markings and Units 1939-1945 the answer is.
# 1140 SA+HS NSGr 1>>> He46C, WNr114. Upper paint RLM71, under black colour. Aircraft used in 1943.
# 1240 BB+CO 1/Storkkampfgruppe Luftflotte 6 >>> He46C, WNr1239. Upper paint: RLM70 and RLM71, black under surfaces. Aircraft was lost on operations near Maloarkhangesk, Russia, on July 7, 1943

in BA-MA RL 2-III/1191 page 165 WNr.1239 is BB+CN not BB+CO

Hello gogh,

the He 46 WNr. 1239 was coded BB+CN, correct. Then it cannot be denied that the WNr. 1240 was coded BB+CO.
