Re: Registration of German civil aviation crashes 1930 - 1933

The crash in question is most likely the one involving Junkers A 50 ci "Junior" D-1986 (W.Nr. 3565) which was owned by DVL at Adlershof but operated by Akaflieg Berlin. Pilot of this flight on May 15, 1932 was the later famous Siegfried Knemeyer, then a student at TH Charlottenburg. His fellow student and Akaflieg member Edmund Münch was killed when the aircraft crashed during take-off due to engine failure. The plane was a total write-off.

What is so interesting on this accident?
