Junkers Ju 188 top pilot Josef Thurnhuber

Good afternoon Gentlemen,

in "Junkers Ju 188 Units of World War 2" by Robert Forsyth p63 I found that Josef Thurnhuber flew 70 special night missions in the Ju 188 with Carmen from June 1944. According to www.tracesofwar.com he had a mission total of ~250. Does anybody know his precise Ju 188 mission total or a pilot with more Ju 188 missions than him ?

Cheers,

Michael

Re: Junkers Ju 188 top pilot Josef Thurnhuber

He flew around 130 missions in He 111s of KG 55 from March 1943 before moving to 1./Verschuss.Ob.dL and from Feb 44 I./KG 200. It is said he flew around 250 missions, 180 in the east but then said to have flown 70 with Carmen but were these bombing missions? Yet again, the various types these latter units flew will make it hard without a FB or PERS 6 file but latter would be thin I would expect

The 70 special night missions in the Ju 188 included agent dropping and supply dropping for agents. Yes, the 130 missions mit KG55 were flown in the He 111 (or Ju 88?). The remaining 50 missions were agent insertions into the Soviet Union but the aircraft he used are unknown.
