By way of an update to the original thread, one of the main suggested candidates for the raid was Major Gerhard Lucke of 2/KG 6.
The OP on the 2010 post wondered what happened to Lucke and whether he was still alive to be interviewed - it transpires the OP was almost 25 years too late - Lucke died on 27 June 1986.
