Ju 86G production

Friends,
could you please advise me on how it was with the production of the Junkers Ju 86G?

Manfred Griehl states that 40 aircraft were produced by ATG between June 1938 and June 1939, when production was completely halted.
However, according to the Werknummer lists, more G-1 versions must have been built. From ATG alone, Wnr. 5100–5158 are listed, and another block, Wnr. 0400–0472 from the home company Junkers Dessau, contains alternating Ju 86E and Ju 86G aircraft.
Please, does anyone know how it actually was? Is it possible that some Ju 86G aircraft were converted from already rebuilt Junkers Ju 86E airframes?

Thank you, Jan

Re: Ju 86G production

Junkers built 72 Ju 86 G-1 including the prototypes V19 and V20 and ATG built 70 Ju 86 G, 5093 to 5162 from Aug 38 to May 1939.

First Ju 86 G from Junkers was W-Nr. 0277 (April 38) and the last was 0479 in January 39, in between, there were many Ju 86 Z and K for export and Ju 86 M models.

There were no conversions of the E series to the G series. The G had a different fuselage.

Peter

I believe ATG only built 162 Ju 86 meaning your mentioned G-1 was the final one
However a man called Paul Zöller claims ATG built a total of 189 Ju 86 (ie the last one 0865189)

What is your opinion on that?

Cheers
Stig

Re: Ju 86G production

Yes, ATG built 162 Ju 86, 92 Ju 86 A/D/E and the 70 G, W-Nr 5001 to 5162.

In addition to the serial numbers, there are also official production statistics that confirm the figures.
