802 Sqdn Sea Hurricanes

Hello, I am having trouble finding the serial numbers of the Sea Hurricanes that were used by 802 Sqdn in 1942.
As I understand they had six aircraft but were there others that were used by the Squadron due to accidents or losses which would mean there were over the 1942 time period would have been more than six ?
So far I have found 4 Serials but am at a loss about others that were used by the Squadron.
Alex

Alex

I take it you have the AB FAA Aircraft 1939-45?

Also the book The Squadrons and Units of the FAA says 802Sq operated the Sea Hurricane Ib
and IIb between Feb - Nov 1942
Seems six - nine aircraft was the normal number onboard.

Cheers
Stig

Re: 802 Sqdn Sea Hurricanes

Hi Stig,
Good to hear from you.
Yes got them. Found it a hard search for 802 in the 39/45 book though.
Didn't look at the Squadrons book as mostly only gives history of unit with a/c types used.
All the best
Alex

Re: 802 Sqdn Sea Hurricanes

I have spent years trying to work out the claimants from 802/883 NAS during PQ18. I know the squadrons claimed five He111 bombers destroyed but have the actual details been established through combat reports?
