The following details are taken from RAF Coastal Command Losses Vol1 by Ross McNeill
20 November 1940. 224 Squadron. Hudson I N7272 QX-L Op. Escort. Crew. P/O. J. Atkinson......Safe P/O. Fowler............Safe Sgt. Wright............Safe Sgt. Wall...............Safe The aircraft took off from Aldergrove at 11:15hrs tasked for an escort to convoy OB245. W/T failed and the Hudson was abandoned out of fuel 3 miles NW of Luss, Dumbartonshire (Scotland) and left to crash into Loch Lomond. Regards Peter

Peter,
Thank you for your reply and information. In John Foreman's "BOB the forgotten years" he has it damaged by enemy fire, crashing into Loch Lomond with two of the crew killed. Would there be 6 of a crew on Hudsons? rgds Drew
