In the text he mentions the Flying Fortresses and Lancasters. I´ll try a short translation to place here. He not flew under Hartmann´s command. He tells when doing his flying training Hartmann did a visit to his unit so he could talk with him. After war´s end he met Hartmann again when he was training the cadets for the new Luftwaffe. Didn´t Spitifires after Day D flew on escort missions with the bombers ??
Just worth mention that unfortunately Mr. Siegert has passed way few days ago due a long battle against cancer...
