Re: Confused names of one or several JG 2 pilot(s)

Fredo - you're thinking about this too much. As I said earlier, the loss and claim documents are full of these types of errors with names, locations, etc., not to mention the undecipherable handwritten notes/additions. The information that was sent back to the HQ units to be recorded during this time was sent via phone, telex, handwritten reports and whatever. Have you seen some of the handwriting from this time? I remember Tony Woods saying that many of the claims docs he transcribed were from handwritten reports. And for the final transcription they were using typewriters, itself an issue with the fat fingered amongst us. You can't backspace and delete your previous entries. Ya gotta type over them.

Re: Confused names of one or several JG 2 pilot(s)

Peglar: Thanks for nice photo. Without wanting to abuse, have you got photos of Werner Dollberg and Rudolf Engstfeld, who were also to the 7. /JG2 at the same time as Theodore Angele?
Thenelm: Thank you for this new explanation. It is true that I did not see a handwriting from this time. I also suppose that all new victories, that the list of Tony Wood would not give, Mr. Prien and his team have informations on Flugbuch of these pilots. For example: 2 victories given to Hugo Dahmer (7. /JG2) on March 6, 1943 in the Jagfliegerverbande 10/IV, unknown in Tony Wood’s List.
Fredo
