After each loss entry Jim has included his sources. They seem to be mostly secondary sources. Cheers, Andrew A. |

Re: Ju188 lost in France
Let me check the Horn history of KG 6 - the rest of the crew should listed.
Don't suppose a WNr. plate was part of the wreckage found? |

Re: Ju188 lost in France
I now have all the Namentliche Verlustemeldung for all German bomber losses over Normandy during this period. The problem is that very very few locations are given and without a crew man or Wk Nr, to identify positively is nigh impossible. Furthermore, if an ac was lost without any crew casualties (Hogeback was one of these), there is no record unless a War Diary exists. Be very careful of jumping to conclusions!

Re: Ju188 lost in France
Hello Jim
Up to now I have not found ant Wnr plate , there is very few part of the fuselage the machine should have burnt I hope to find the Wnr of the engine . I have to inspect one more time the wreck in the next coming days . It looks like the machine exploded .... the propeller blades are in rather good state not bent -> the engine was not running . We have found a 12.7 mm impact in a pulley . Eric |
