Chris,
"Unusually" may mean that pilots who were helped by escape lines were excused from flying over enemy territory again in case they got shot down another time. If they got caught they might compromise their former escape aids. Any other suggestions welcome. Leendert |

Hi Alain
Bob Barckley returned to 3 Squadron and shot down at least a dozen V-1 flying bombs in 1944, including the very first. All are recorded in my forthcoming 'Diver! Diver! Diver!' book to be published May 2008 (revised date). Cheers Brian Last edited by Brian; 28th September 2007 at 21:46. |
