Colors of Faber's Fw 190 in RAF
Hi all,
I am wondering, if there are any opinions about the painting scheme of the RAF applied on Faber's Fw 190. Sources tell, it was a "RAF training RAF scheme". But was it brown-green or grey-green? Undersurfaces should be trainers yellow. On both sides of fuselage were applied two rectangles. Sources tell about they cover former crosses, but it is impossible, as the balkenkreutz was in another position. I think it way cover a circled P, for the test planes. Have anyone of you opinion by which color it can be? If you wish, I can post any photos of this particular Fw from various books (I would repost them just for the research purposes...). Thanks, Jan

Re: Colors of Faber's Fw 190 in RAF
Franek,
many thanks for your reply! By the rectangle I mean what is visible behind the RAF roundel. See the enclosure... It should be brown, but if you look on the second picture, there is visible the rectangle, also as part of the brown cammo right of it. And there is anothe color partially over (or under) the rectangle color. So it suggest the rectangle may be by another color than is the basic paint scheme... Also on third photo it looks to be another color than the brown visible on the planes fuselage... I do not know... Looking forward for your opinion. Thanks, Jan

My only guess is that this is either overpainting of prototype markings or some special job for the purpose of some film job. Your guess is as good as mine.
