RAF or French aircraft id MARYLAND Crash

I have a photo that shows a crashed aircraft from the side
and the front.

At first I though it might be a Beaufighter, however nI don't
think it is, and the markings appear to be French (I think).

I was wondering if I could email it to somebody who might
be able to identify the type.

I'm not sure how I post images. If I email it to somebody
could they post it (or could somebody tell me how to
post images).

Hello Johnnie,

You first have to put it on a site or weblog; then post a reply here, activate the yellowish button (with the mountain and sun) and enter the URL of this photo.

Regards,

Bart

Ok. Thanks for that. I'm afraid I don't have a web log or site (and don't know how to do that kind of thing).

Re: RAF or French aircraft id

The size limit on this forum is 200 Kb. If you have a picture that's bigger in size, go to 1. If not, proceed to 2.

1.There is a software program called irfanview. You can download it for free here :
http://www.irfanview.com/

After installation, right-ckick you picture and select open with ...irfanview.
Select Image - Resize/Resample
Here you select 800 x 600 pixels.
Save this picture on your PC.

2.To post this picture here, just select "manage attachments" in the Additional Options box which you can see when you make a new post in this forum. (When you make a new post, scroll down to where it says "manage attachments"). Here you can upload your picture.

- It's best to always use the "Preview Post" function, when you upload a picture, just to make sure everything is OK.

- If the picture is to big in size, restart with irfranview and select 640x480 pixels.

Hope this might help,
Rudi.

Here's the pic. It's a Martin Model 167 (Maryland).

Re: RAF or French aircraft id

Thanks for posting the image, and the aircraft type.

Is it possible to work out which unit it was serving with. I wasn't
sure if the 7 stood for a unit (I am not familiar with French Squadrons).
