Kurfürst,
I have a nice picture about a KG 4 He 111 from October, 1944 which shows well the camo, just drop me a pm and I'll send it to you. As for their tasks: they flew bombing missions as well, not just supply drops (I have few Flugbuch entries from this period) There are few available unpublished manuscripts as well from unit members (different level of reminescences)

Csaba, that's interesting... the Motorbuchverlag-book does not mention such missions at all.
Do you know what targets they attacked and wether there were still daylight bombings to be flown? Would be very nice if you list some examples of missions  ...
