Re: Lt Alfred Schwab - 68th TRG

Leendert,
Thank you! Very nice of yours to share this background and post-war information on Lt Alfred Schwab Jr.
I was actually looking about his reconnaissance flights over Tunisia. He made the first USAAF Mustang recon over that Theater of War, and I thought that maybe I could track down his WAR career. But you added a very interesting information: that he crashed landed ( shot down ) during one mission.
Thanks for sharing the information
Adriano

Re: Lt Alfred Schwab - 68th TRG

Adriano,

I don't know about Schwab being shot down as written in his obituary, but he's recorded to have had a landing accident at Ajaccio, Corsica in P-38H 42-67081 on 29 April 1944. Unit was 154th TRS, 68th TRG.

Regards,

Leendert
