II./JG 1

Hello Andreas

Prien has the following for 4 July 1944:

Gefrieter Friedrich-Karl Ernst of 4./JG 1 killed in aerial combat in Fw 190 A-8 "Red 23" (W.Nr. 170 430), crashed at St Lo
Obergefrieter Friedel Pallas of 5./JG 1 uninjured in crash landing following delivery flight in Fw 190 A-8 "White 226" (W.Nr. 731 462) at Semalle
Leutnant Friedrich Krakowitzer, Staffelführer of 7./JG 51, killed in aerial combat in Fw 190 A-8 "Blue 11" (W.Nr. 170 094), crashed at St Lo
Leutnant Helmut Weissbrodt of 7./JG 51 killed in aerial combat in Fw 190 A-8 "Blue 2" (W.Nr. 730 923), crashed at St Lo

Schuelke states that the three pilots were killed in combat with P-47 fighters of the 404th FG, USAAF. One other fighter of II./JG 1 was lost in aerial combat that day as well. I hope this may help you.

Horrido!

Leo
